With Bridges to Prosperity, the SWEET Lab is demonstrating pedestrian footbridge usage at three remote sites in rural Guatemala.
Three technologies were installed in February 2011 by a SWEET Lab team, and are currently being demonstrated:
- Pyroelectric heat sensors
- Pressure slab sensors
- Remote GSM data access
These usage monitors will guide Bridges to Prosperity in their assessment, implementation and monitoring work, ultimately improving access of rural residents to markets, education and healthcare.
